Soft Power Summit

Whereas there should never be a tradeoff between soft power and hard power, there are budget constraints which make choices over government spending difficult, and there are digital demands and metrics challenges that come with the use of things like international education, music, sports, arts, business to business, etc. With the Ukraine war, tensions between China and Taiwan, the need to address climate change, and a pressing need to engage the Global South on many issues, (not to mention tension in the Middle East) and nuclear worries, it is time to ask ourselves: Is Soft Power Working? What is its place in the American foreign toolbox and how are other nations like Ukraine deploying it, and, for example is NATO utilizing it effectively?
